Rmax Nailable Base-3 insulation products are ideal for new and retro-fit construction. Originally developed for applications where aesthetic design considerations dictate the need for exterior insulation, Nailable Base-3 insulation is composed of a environmentally sound, closed-cell polyiso foam core, bonded to a 7/16" thick OSB nailing panel on top, with a glass fiber/organic mat facer on the other side. Available in 1 1/2" to 4 1/2" thicknesses, Rmax Nailable Base-3 is ideal for use with concrete, clay roof tiles, slate, wood shakes and metal panel roofing systems. In some cases, it can also be used with asphalt shingles. Nailing surfaces, other than the standard 7/16" OSB maybe available. This versatile, Rmax roofing insulation and nailing surface product provides airflow channels that help prolong the life of shingles installed in residential and commercial roofing applications. Vented Nailable Base-3 insulation is a composite product composed of a 7/16" OSB top nailing surface with factory applied furring strips. The nailing surface is bonded to a environmentally sound closed-cell polyiso foam core. The standard top nailing surface is 7/16" thick OSB board with five ¾" thick OSB or wood furring strips attached. Other thicknesses of OSB, or common plywoods, and 1" thick furring strips are also available. Rmax Multi-Vent Nailable Base features multiple wood blocks that allow airflow in all directions for roofs with hips and valleys. The standard product has 1" thick wood blocks and a 7/16" OSB nailing surface. Rmax Vented Nailable Base-3 is superior for use in residential and commercial roofing applications where a vented assembly is desired. Other roofing materials can be installed over Rmax Vented Nailable Base-3 and Multi-Vent Nailable Base, as well.
